What is Coaching?

Some people are confused about what professional coaching is and is not. Coaching is not therapy, counseling or psychotherapy. My role as your Leadership Coach is to be your guide and partner, and utilize my skills, knowledge, experience and professional coach training to help you exceed your own expectations.

There are a wide variety of coaches: Life Coaches, Executive Coaches, Financial Coaches, Small Business Coaches, Leadership Coaches, Relationship Coaches, Career Coaches, etc. But regardless of a coach’s niche, we all have 2 things in common:

1. We work with people who are already in a healthy place in their lives, but that want to continue growing and excelling – personally and/or professionally.
2.  “Life coaching” is a component of ANY type of coaching. It’s all about YOU and YOUR life, so how couldn’t it be?

My Purpose As Your Leadership Coach Is To:

• Help you uncover your goals, roadblocks, opportunities, and vision
• Create a plan to help you achieve your short-term & long-term goals faster
• Provide effective feedback that supports your goals, objectives and vision
• Provide you with a safe and confidential space to be open, grow, share & learn
• Assist you with making decisions, keep you on track, evaluate your choices & give you clarity
• Bring out your strengths and overcome your weaknesses
• Not be a “yes” woman, but provide you with honest feedback and insights
• Remain objective & approach our relationship without judgment, criticism or bias
• Help you become the exceptional leader, and person, you envision
• Give you clarity on what being a “leader” really means and apply that to your own personal style
• Make sure both of us have a lot of fun throughout the process!

KEY POINT: Confidentiality & You 
Some companies hire me to coach specific employees, but most of my clients hire me on their own. Regardless of how we meet, all coaching sessions are private and confidential (unless otherwise agreed upon between employee & employer). It’s against the ICF’s Code of Ethics for a coach to tell anyone what is discussed in private sessions with a client…what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
